This guy is spilling the tea on his inadvertently branded tattoo.
A 21-year-old man from Dallas told his tattoo artist to draw a cherry blossom branch from memory up the side of his body. But he ended up with an uncannily familiar design: the iconic, colorful design used by AriZona Ice Tea, which is virtually unchanged since 1992.
“Realized that my side tattoo makes me look like an AriZona Green Tea can and now I can’t unsee it,” wrote a man with the Twitter handle @semisexual, in a viral post that’s raked in over 85,000 likes since Wednesday.
The Twitter account for AriZona Iced Tea, which has over 87,400 followers, responded to his viral tweet: “We guess this means it’s going pretty serious between us 💚🌸”
According to Jam Press, the student and adult internet model said he was 18 when he got the tattoo, not knowing exactly how the drawing would turn out before it was finished. In a series of replies to his tweet, he also admitted he doesn’t even like the ubiquitous tea brand.
“But have you met a single soul who doesn’t like Arizona Green Tea?” a follower asked, to which the tattooed man replied, simply, “Me.”
Others came through to commiserate, showing off their own brand-inspired tattoo fails.
“If it’s any consolation you aren’t alone. I’ve come to realize that my forearm tattoo looks like the Malibu Rum logo,” wrote one.
In any event, maybe our tattooed friend should complete the look with some matching footwear? (If he can get some, that is.)
