Ann Curry was born on 19 November 1956, on Guam, a Pacific island of the USA, of Cherokee, Scottish, French, German and Irish (father) and Japanese(mother) descent, and is a television personality and journalist, perhaps best known as a television anchor for the NBC network.

Ann Curry started her career at the KTVL station, where she was initially an intern, but over the years Curry rose higher and eventually took up the position a news reporter, becoming the first female at KTVL to reach the position. She went on to work at KGW, and later at KCBS-TV as a reporter – the latter job earned her two Emmy Awards. Curry rose to fame in 1990 when she began working at the “NBC News” broadcast network, and then advanced to “NBC News at Sunrise”, where she firstly worked as a correspondent and later as the anchor. From 1994 until 1997, Curry had the job of a substitute anchor at a television show that she is mostly recognized from – “Today” or “The Today Show”, which she was part of for almost fourteen years, as she until 2011. Curry became one of the longest serving anchors of the “Today”, only falling behind Frank Blair, a famous news anchor and journalist who has been part of the show for over twenty years. When Curry was working for “The Today Show”, she also appeared as a co-anchor on a news magazine series called “Dateline NBC” where she worked alongside Stone Phillips. When Phillips left the show, Ann Curry had the position of the primary anchor on “Dateline NBC”.
In addition to that, Curry worked as an anchor on another television news program called “NBC Nightly News”.
